Château Vitallis Pouilly Fuisse 2024
Château Vitallis is over 100 years old, situated in the village of Pouilly with vineyards close to the village of Fuissé in the heart of the Mâconnais. Now run by Denis Dutron and his son, the estate brings together generations of Burgundian winemaking tradition with a modern commitment to environmental responsibility — the entire estate is HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certified, France’s highest environmental standard for viticulture.
About This Wine
Pouilly-Fuissé is one of Burgundy’s most celebrated white appellations, producing Chardonnay of real richness and complexity from the limestone slopes of the Mâconnais. This example from Château Vitallis spends 6 months in oak, adding texture and depth while preserving the freshness and elegance that define the appellation. Highly enjoyable now, it will continue to improve with age.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Pale gold with attractive green tints.
Nose: Intense and inviting — citrus, white fruit, brioche, and a delicate hint of honey.
Palate: Medium-bodied with a richness from 6 months in oak, well-integrated acidity, and a long, flavoursome finish.
Finish: Long and elegant — a wine that rewards patience.
Food Pairing
A classic match for roast chicken, veal, pork, seafood, and goat’s cheese. The oak-aged richness also pairs beautifully with creamy sauces and game birds.
