Domaine La Grave Chardonnay 2024

Domaine La Grave is a family-run vineyard in the south of the Minervois, in the Languedoc, overlooking the Canal du Midi. The Orosquette family have generations of vine-growing experience, and sustainable agriculture has always been the rule of the property — common sense before it became a philosophy. Owner Jean-François is a man of many passions: in 1988 he competed in the Paris-Dakar rally, bringing bottles of his wine to taste at the finish line in Dakar. On the 6th stage, with his Toyota overheating and no water available, he made the bold decision to use a blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc in the radiator — which, after some protest from the engine, saw him safely finish the stage.

About This Wine

Made from Chardonnay grown to Terra Vitis sustainable standards in the Hauts de Badens area of the Languedoc. This is a rich, fruit-forward white with the creamy texture and peach character that Chardonnay does so well in the warm south of France — approachable, generous, and excellent value.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Bright gold with warm highlights.
Nose: Refreshing and fruity — ripe peach, white fruit, and a subtle creamy note.
Palate: Rich and rounded with a creamy texture, ripe fruit, and a fresh, balanced finish.
Finish: Clean and satisfying with good length.

Food Pairing

A versatile food wine — excellent with roast chicken, grilled fish, pizza, and creamy pasta dishes. The rounded texture also pairs well with mild cheeses.
