Château Vieux Chantecaille St Emilion 2022

Mickael Moze-Berthon makes wonderful wines from just over a hectare in Saint-Émilion — 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc — bottled as Château Vieux Chantecaille. His vineyards sit within the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru boundary, just across the road from the famed Pomerol property Le Bon Pasteur. A quirk of local bureaucracy means that because his cellar is technically in Pomerol, he can only label it as Saint-Émilion rather than Grand Cru — a frankly absurd situation that means you're getting Grand Cru terroir at a very fair price.

About This Wine

A beautifully crafted Saint-Émilion from a tiny, quality-focused estate. HVE Certified and made with meticulous care, this is a wine that punches well above its appellation classification.
