Montaribaldi Barbera d'Asti 2024
While it’s most famous for its age-worthy Nebbiolo's like Barolo and Barbaresco, Italy’s premium Piedmont region is also home to world-class reds, like Barbera, that are made for enjoying now. “Softer and more approachable in its youth than the Nebbiolo used to make Piedmont's most prestigious wines, Barbera is a firm favorite among winemakers and wine drinkers Deep ruby in color, it’s a tasty match for northern Italian dishes like veal Milanese.
The Wine Buff Tip: Barbera’s famed for being both super-fresh and fruit-rich. For an extra-refreshing kick, try giving this a light chill (15 minutes in the fridge) before serving.
Deep dark chocolate aromas. Medium-bodied, with a slightly sharp cherry flavour. The finish is medium in length, with tartness balancing things off. Everything here is good.
