Pierre Henri Ginglinger Ollwiller Grand Cru Riesling 2022
In 1610 the Ginglinger family planted their first vines in the area of Eguisheim in Alsace. Mathieu Ginglinger — the 12th generation — took over the running of the 15-hectare estate from his father Pierre Henri, and in 2001 the entire vineyards and wines were awarded Ecocert organic certification. In Alsace, wines generally take their name from the grape variety rather than the vineyard — but the greatest wines use the Grand Cru vineyard names they are grown in. Ollwiller is one of Alsace's 51 Grand Cru sites, situated in the sunny southern area of the region and long renowned for producing wines of exceptional quality.
About This Wine
An organic Grand Cru Riesling from the prestigious Ollwiller vineyard — one of Alsace's most celebrated Grand Cru sites. Dry but with a full, creamy texture and excellent acidity, this is a Riesling of real complexity and ageing potential. Already drinking beautifully, it will only improve with time.
