Château Labastide Haut 2024

With the rise of Argentinian Malbec, it is easy to forget that this great red variety has ancient roots in French winemaking. Château Labastide Haut is the perfect reminder of that heritage, located in the Lot Valley in the Occitanie region of southwest France. Philippe Bernède and his son Sébastien are the custodians of one of the region’s oldest domaines, founded by their ancestors before the French Revolution. The vineyards lie on the gentle slopes and terraces rising up from the river Lot, which meanders through the valley almost encircling the ancient town of Cahors.

About This Wine

A blend of 80% Malbec and 20% Merlot, farmed organically and crafted to express the full character of the Cahors appellation. Labastide Haut combines intense dark fruit with an elegant rusticity and everyday drinkability — a wine equally at home on a weeknight table or in the cellar for up to 10 years. A must for French wine lovers and Malbec enthusiasts alike.
