The Wine Buff Selection Cuvee Jean Marie Pomerol 2021

Cuvée Jean Marie is The Wine Buff’s own Pomerol — one of the most exclusive wines in our entire range. Made in partnership with Mikaël Mozé-Berthon, only 500 bottles are produced each year, with the grapes sourced from the finest parcels of land near Château Bon Pasteur — just a ten-minute walk from Château Pétrus, the most celebrated wine estate on earth. Named in personal tribute, this is a wine that carries real meaning as well as exceptional quality.

About This Wine

Pomerol is the smallest and most sought-after of Bordeaux’s great appellations — a plateau of clay and gravel soils that produces some of the world’s most opulent and complex Merlot-based wines. Cuvée Jean Marie is 100% Merlot, HVE Certified, and made with the same care and precision as the great estates that surround it. With only 500 bottles produced annually, this is a genuinely rare wine — a collector’s bottle from The Wine Buff, available exclusively through our shops and online.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Deep, rich ruby red with garnet and violet hints.
Nose: Classic Pomerol — ripe plum, dark cherry, and a luxurious richness with hints of truffle, cedar, and warm spice from the clay terroir.
Palate: Full-flavoured and opulent with the generous, velvety texture that defines great Pomerol Merlot. Rich dark fruit, silky tannins, and a natural depth and complexity that speaks clearly of the exceptional terroir.
Finish: Long, persistent, and deeply satisfying — a finish that rewards patience and attention.

Food Pairing

A Pomerol of this quality deserves a worthy table — roast lamb, aged beef, or venison. Also exceptional with duck confit, a rich truffle-based dish, or a celebratory roast. Decant for at least two hours before serving to allow the wine to fully open and express the depth of the terroir.
