Apollonio Divoto Riserva 2013
This is the only Riserva wine made by the Apollonio brothers, the grapes are harvested by hand when the bunches are fully ripe. In order to obtain a good structure, harvest is delayed so as to maximise the concentration of sugar and richness. Aged in oak for 24 months and 12 months ageing in the bottle.
‘Divoto’ is a rich dark red colour with garnet highlights. Aromas of rich ripe red fruit and dried currants, hint of spices, cloves and coffee beans. On the palate it is very well structured, full-bodied with lush tannin's. The finish is long, reminds us here of a baby Amarone.
