Priorat, located 90 minutes southwest of Barcelona in Catalonia, is one of Spain’s most prestigious wine regions. Known for its rugged landscape of steep, terraced vineyards (costers) and volcanic licorella soil, this area produces bold, full-bodied reds, primarily from Garnacha and Cariñena, which are prized for their high alcohol, intense minerality, and aging potential.
