Diemersdal Pinotage 2024
Diemersdal Wine Estate was formally established in the late 17th century, and wine has been made here for over three centuries. Since 1885, six generations of the Louw family have farmed the estate's 180 hectares of vines on the cool slopes of the Dorstberg in the Durbanville Valley — one of the Cape's oldest wine regions, with Table Mountain as backdrop. Deep red Hutton soils, dryland farming, and cooling afternoon mists from the Atlantic Ocean create the conditions for wines of real character and concentration.
About This Wine
A full-flavoured Pinotage from Durbanville, farmed sustainably. South Africa's own grape variety — a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault — finds an ideal home in Durbanville's cool-climate terroir, producing a wine of complexity and depth. Red fruits, exotic spice, and dark chocolate are complemented by a smooth, full-bodied palate that drinks well now but will reward further cellaring.
