Domaine Bergeron Julienas 2024

This estate has been in the family for four generations and is now managed by Jean-François and Pierre Bergeron. Stringent practitioners of sustainable, traditional farming, the Bergerons produce some of the top wines in the Beaujolais region — wines that reflect the granite and schist soils of the crus with honesty and precision. This Juliénas is the Cuvée “Vayolette”, named after the specific vineyard plot where the Gamay grapes grow.

About This Wine

Juliénas is one of the most structured and age-worthy of the Beaujolais crus, producing wines with more depth and complexity than the lighter village appellations. The Cuvée Vayolette is a single-vineyard expression of the cru — 100% Gamay, generous and vibrant, with the characteristic red fruit and soft juiciness that makes Juliénas such a rewarding and food-friendly wine.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Bright ruby red with violet hints.
Nose: Generous and inviting — fresh red fruit, cherry, and a subtle floral note with a hint of spice characteristic of the Juliénas terroir.
Palate: Soft and juicy with a lovely burst of red fruit. Well-rounded with gentle tannins and a lively, fresh acidity that keeps the wine vibrant and food-friendly.
Finish: Clean and pleasantly persistent with a juicy red fruit close.

Food Pairing

A wonderfully versatile cru Beaujolais — excellent with roast chicken, guinea fowl, game birds, or a fine charcuterie board. Also great with soft cheeses, grilled fish, or a light mushroom dish. Serve slightly chilled for maximum freshness and enjoyment.
