Villa Erbice Monte Tombole Valpolicella 2022
It was back in 1870 when grandpa Narciso Erbice began to make wines in a historical Venetian villa dating back to the 17th century. Brothers Silvio and Alberto Erbice are the current custodians of the family vineyards and winery. The vineyards for the Monte Tombole Valpolicella Superiore were planted between 1978 and 1989. The grapes are picked and sorted manually into small crates in October, fermented in barrels for 18 months, and the bottles are left for at least six months before release.
About This Wine
A sustainably farmed Valpolicella Superiore from Villa Erbice — a step up in depth and structure from a standard Valpolicella, with the additional ageing that the Superiore designation requires. Deep red with violet tints, intense ripe red fruit on the nose, and a full, soft, and beautifully balanced palate. A wine of real character from one of Veneto's most dedicated family estates.
