La Conreria d'Scala Dei Les Brugueres 2023
Jordi Vidal farms several plots organically across the Priorat region, varying in location, altitude, and soil type. While some parcels sit close to the winery, others cling to the steep slopes and terraces of red clay and slate — the famous llicorella soils that give Priorat wines their unmistakable mineral backbone. Les Brugueres is a wine that reflects this rugged, high-altitude landscape with honesty and precision.
About This Wine
A blend of Grenache and Syrah sourced from organically farmed high-altitude vineyards, Les Brugueres is crafted with a light touch — the oak is present but respectful, allowing the fruit and terroir to lead. Organic and vegan-friendly, this is Priorat at its most approachable without sacrificing depth or complexity.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Intensely deep ruby with violet hints.
Nose: Generous dark fruit — blackberry and cherry — with notes of Mediterranean herbs, spice, and a marked mineral character from the slate soils.
Palate: Light and fresh in the mouth with a velvety texture. The fruit is well-framed by the oak, with good structure and balance.
Finish: Good length with a clean, mineral aftertaste.
Food Pairing
Versatile at the table — pair with roast chicken, game birds, grilled meats, or a hearty vegetable stew. The wine's freshness and mineral edge also make it a great match for dishes with Mediterranean herbs and olive oil.
