Pierre Morin Sancerre 2025

Over 40 years ago, Gérard Morin took over the family’s 1½ hectares of vineyard in Bué, one of Sancerre’s finest and steepest villages. His son Pierre now runs the property, bringing experience from working in Australia’s Adelaide Hills and at Domaine Dujac in Burgundy. The estate has grown to nine hectares, with yields held low through spring de-budding and hand harvesting with meticulous sorting. Pierre prefers natural methods — no herbicides, natural yeasts, and all whites vinified in stainless steel and matured on lees for several months.

About This Wine

Made from organically farmed Sauvignon Blanc in the Bué commune of Sancerre — one of the appellation’s most celebrated villages for its gooseberry-leaf, mineral style. This is a superb example of what Sancerre does best: lean, precise, and intensely aromatic, with the kind of mineral depth that only comes from great terroir and low yields.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Pale yellow-green, bright and clear.
Nose: Distinctive and expressive — blackcurrant leaf, tomato stalk, gooseberry, and a rich mineral edge.
Palate: Firmly structured and richly aromatic with grapefruit, gooseberry, and lime, underpinned by elegant acidity.
Finish: Long, dry, and mineral — a superb example of Sancerre.

Food Pairing

The classic match for grilled fish, seafood, and goat’s cheese. The mineral precision and fresh acidity also make it excellent with oysters and light summer dishes.
