Semillon
Semillon is a white grape variety that is widely grown in various wine regions around the world, including France, Australia, and South Africa. It is known for producing wines with a wide range of styles, from dry to sweet. Semillon wines often display a pale golden colour and offer flavours of citrus fruits, such as lemon and grapefruit, along with notes of honey, lanolin, and sometimes a subtle herbaceous character. Semillon can produce both light and refreshing wines as well as rich and luscious dessert wines when affected by noble rot. It is often used in blends, particularly with Sauvignon Blanc, and is highly regarded for its ability to age gracefully.
