Bodegas Ontañón Plinio el Viejo Ecologia 2021

The grapes used to make this wine come from high altitude vineyards, from one of the winery's most special vineyards: Andañal, a farm located at over 720 metres above sea level on the slopes of the Sierra de Yerga in the Rioja Oriental, specifically on the slopes of Mount Gatún. This vineyard, planted at different stages in 1995, 2012 and 2016, is certified organic. Its altitude means that ripening is very slow and absolutely conducive to the Tempranillo offering its best notes of finesse, expression and subtlety.

One of the characteristics of this wine is its light barrel aging (four to six months) , which enhances its fruity and floral aromas.

Cherry red hues and purple trim. On the nose, it is complex, combining notes of ripe fruit such as blackberry and currant with toasted, spicy, and mineral notes from aging in high-quality oak.

It shows elegance in the mouth with a perfect balance between acidity and tannins, with mineral notes.
