Setzer Ausstich Weinviertel 2025
The Setzer family have been working the lands in Hohenwarth, in the heart of Austria's Weinviertel, since 1705. Hohenwarth — named after the Romanesque fortified church from the 11th century at 400 metres above sea level — sits significantly higher than neighbouring Kamptal and Wagram, giving it a very special microclimate. All vineyards are located within a two-kilometre radius of the cellar, with no irrigation; the vines develop particularly deep roots to sustain themselves through dry periods, concentrating flavour and character in the fruit.
About This Wine
Ausstich means "stands out" — generations ago, only the better wine from casks was bottled, selected for its fruity, special taste. This is a typical Weinviertel DAC Grüner Veltliner: peppery, fruity, and fresh, with moderate alcohol and the kind of easy, generous drinkability that makes it a perfect everyday white. Farmed sustainably and made without animal products.
