Setzer Zweigelt 2022
The Setzer family have been working the lands in Hohenwarth, in the heart of Austria's Weinviertel, since 1705. What began as a farming and livestock operation with small vineyards evolved into a dedicated wine estate in 2001, when the family focused 100% on viticulture and winemaking. Hohenwarth sits at 400 metres above sea level, giving it a unique microclimate that produces wines of real freshness and elegance. Zweigelt — Austria's most widely planted red grape — finds a natural home here.
About This Wine
A light, elegant Zweigelt from the Weinviertel, farmed sustainably and aged nine months in large oak casks. Austria's signature red grape delivers its hallmark sour cherry and dark berry character with a smooth, velvety finish and a gentle hint of oak. Approachable and food-friendly, it is a wine that works equally well with grilled food, shellfish, and cheese.
