Château La Bourree Castillon 2021

The appellation of Castillon Côtes De Bordeaux was created in 2009 from the old Côtes De Castillon appellation. The region borders Saint-Émilion and has similar tasting wines which are less expensive then its neighbour. Our customers have been enjoying wines from this region since we opened in 2000, yet the area is still an undiscovered gem in Ireland.  Wines from here have tremendous quality and value, as this Château La Bourrée demonstrates. Jean Francois Meynard, an ex-champion French rower, owns Château La Bourrée and runs his vineyard following the principles of reasoned agriculture. Not quite organic, but is as close as possible.

Another great red from the energetic Francois Meynard. Plenty of ripe red and blueberry fruit mixed with cedar notes. Rich flavours of red cherry and red currant with a smooth finish from the oak and a lingering long finish.
