Château La Landotte Medoc 2020

Château La Landotte is the second wine of Château Tour Haut-Caussan, a Cru Bourgeois estate run by brother and sister Fabien and Véronique Courrian. The family acquired the vineyard in 1877 and are now the fourth generation of winemakers, though the family has been living in Blaignan-Médoc since 1634. They maintain a very traditional approach to viticulture and winemaking — no chemicals, only compost made from grape stalks and cuttings, hand-picking in a region where mechanical harvesting is the norm, and no filtration. The greenness of their vineyard against their neighbours tells the story.

About This Wine

A classic Médoc blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from one of the appellation's most traditionally-minded family estates — blackcurrant and herb-scented, medium-bodied, and excellent value. Great Bordeaux doesn't have to cost a fortune.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Deep ruby with garnet hints
Nose: Blackcurrant and herb-scented with a classic Bordeaux character
Palate: Medium-bodied with ripe black fruit flavours and good structure
Finish: Clean and satisfying — superb accompaniment to roast lamb

Food Pairing

Excellent with lamb and red meat. The classic Bordeaux structure also makes it a great match for duck and aged cheeses.
