Château La Landotte Medoc 2020
This is the second wine of Château Tour Haut-Caussan Cru Bourgeois run by brother and sister Fabien & Véronique Courrian, the family acquired the vineyard in 1877 and they are the 4th generation of winemakers, though the family has been living in Blaignan-Medoccan since 1634.
Their father Phillipe has moved his wine making passion to Château Cascadais in Corbieries. They maintain a very traditional approach to viticulture and wine making, using no chemicals, only compost which they makes themselves from grape stalks and cuttings, a fact noticeable by the greenness of their vineyard against their neighbours. While in the Medoc mechanical harvesting is common, they believe in hand-picking. They also use no form of filtration.
Blackcurrant and herb scented nose, medium bodied ripe black fruit flavours this is great value Bordeaux that would make a superb accompaniment to roast lamb.
