Domaine Colbois 1er Cru Côte de Jouan 2024

Côte de Jouan is a Premier Cru of Chablis, located southwest of the town near the village of Courgis. Its steep slopes and high-quality Kimmeridgian soils give it a terroir excellently suited to expressing Chablis’ unique characteristics — bright, chalky, and floral, with the flinty “goût de pierre à fusil” (gunflint) note that is the hallmark of great Chablis. Benjamin Colbois consistently produces better and better Premier Cru from his small Côte de Jouan vineyard, and this vintage is no exception.

About This Wine

A Premier Cru Chablis from the Côte de Jouan climat, farmed to HVE certified standards by Benjamin Colbois. Chablis Premier Cru represents a significant step up in concentration and complexity from village Chablis — more textured, more mineral, and built to age. This is a benchmark example from one of the appellation’s most dedicated family estates.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Pale gold with bright green highlights.
Nose: Concentrated and mineral — citrus, apple, yellow fruit, and a distinctive steely, flinty edge.
Palate: Rich and textured with layers of citrus and apple fruit, excellent acidity, and a steely mineral backbone.
Finish: Long, mineral, and persistent — proper Premier Cru quality.

Food Pairing

Excellent with grilled salmon, seafood, roast chicken, and fine fish dishes. The concentration and mineral depth also make it a natural partner for lobster and scallops.
