Silgueiros Dão Reserva 2023
Silgueiros is located in the municipality of Viseu, in the heart of the Dão demarcated region, between the Serra da Estrela and Caramulo mountains. Ancient vineyards planted on granite soils benefit from a temperate mountain climate — cold, wet winters and warm, sunny summers — that preserves natural freshness while building concentration and structure in the grapes.
About This Wine
The Reserva is a step up in intensity and complexity from the Colheita — a vigorous, structured red from the same estate, spending four months in French oak barrels. The granite soils lend great minerality and help mature the tannins, while the oak adds depth and aromatic complexity without overwhelming the fruit. An elegant, classic expression of the Dão at its most serious.
