Anselmi Ca-Stele Pinot Grigio 2025
The Anselmi family established themselves as winemakers in the 1920s when they purchased a small estate in the north-east of Italy in the Friuli region. The vineyard is located on the coast, enjoying warm days and a cooling effect in the evenings. The family business is now run by brothers Guiseppe and Luigi Anselmi, who still use traditional techniques to create aromatic and flavoursome wines.
About This Wine
In recent years the market has been flooded with insipid, characterless mass-produced Pinot Grigio IGT wines from regions in southern Italy not suited to the grape. The Ca-Stele is a DOC wine that is far from characterless — in fact it's a delight in the glass. A nose of aromatic white flowers and a hint of pear, slipping along with pear and ripe green fruits over fine refreshing acidity and a hint of minerality. Exactly what Pinot Grigio should be.
