Mas du Novi Novi's Date 2023
The vineyard of St Jean du Noviciat produces fantastic wines under the name ‘Mas du Novi’. This exceptional terroir is situated in Montagnac, embedded in the Languedoc landscape just west of Montpellier. Its history can be traced back to the era of the Cathars and Crusaders and the land was once part of a vast Cistercian abbey.
Mas du Novi's newest is an organic offbeat cuvée, the fruit is a mix of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Carignan from the youngest vines, with a short vatting period. With the aim of limiting the impact on the environment, as they have always done, they have opted for lightweight bottles without capsules.
Finally, to emphasise the modernity of this cuvée, Novi are fortunate to have collaborated with the artist Ed Williamson who designed the label.
The aroma stands out of wild dark fruits, very fruity and vibrant on the palette. Well balanced and a summer tasting wine from the sunny climes of the Languedoc region.
